Getting texts from Three saying my prepay plan has expired.

Dear Three.

I've received 2 text messages from Three (50333) saying "Your prepay plan and all its benefits have expired." It also mentions to top up by €20 to keep connected.

I topped up my Prepay Flat Rate Plan just last month. How could it be expired? My balance on Three.ie is still okay.

Must I top up within ever 28 days to keep my credit?

Am I being sent these text messages by mistake?

Kind regards.

My apologies , for some reason I thought that Prepay flat rate plan had an allowance built into it. It doesn't! Plus it does not require a minimum top up either. So all usage > making calls, sending a text, data, international and roaming usage is charged and deducted from your credit.

I'm curious to see the full text you received. Can you send it to me by PM along with your name, number, address and date of birth? Then I'll be able to contact the Prepay team and ask why you received it? It's more like a SMS for plans that have an allowance 🤔

@mintyraym Hi there, you are receiving the texts as a curtsey to let you know that your plan benefits are about to expire! The plan allowance expires after 28 days and not your credit. However, credit does expire after some time as per Ts&Cs.

If you do not want to top up to reactivate your plan then all usage will be deducted from your credit . The word "connected" in this context is stay connected to friends/ family, I reckon!

So no, you don't have to top-up every 28 days. While it's best you do, solely to activate your plan.

Hi Deborah.

Thank you for getting back to me.

You see, I only send the odd text message and make a rare phone call. I only use my home DSL WiFi and never use Data on my phone. So any plan with unlimited call/texts/lots of data would be of little use to me.

Could you elaborate on this part of your post?

"If you do not want to top up to reactivate your plan then all usage will be deducted from your credit."

Do you mean I can continue to be on the Prepay Flat Rate Plan (currently says that on My3) or no plan at all?

Also - what exactly does "all usage will be deducted from your credit" mean?

Thank you.

Hi Deborah.

I sent you a PM with the SMS screengrab.

I now understand what you meant by 'all usage will be deducted'. I saw this [screenshot below] and now understand the types of plans. My credit is still ok. I'll forward on those personal details to aid you in investigating this with the prepay team, if I receive any more of those texts.2022-01-31_15-32.png

@mintyraym I see your PM, I'll pop back to you over there 😃

Thank you, Laur. Done! 🙂
