My son has moved to Australia for a year and half. So not in Ireland. He on a family monthly account. All he wants is to keep his number and to be able to use WhatsApp. I want to change him to a cheaper option as the current subscription is expensive.
What are my options taking into account he is in Australia with his phone!🙂
Hey @Add_67333 I'll be glad to help, firstly I would be checking to see if he is out of contract. If he is on a bill pay contract and has completed the commitment term or he is on SIM only then you would be able to call 1913 and move him to a Prepay plan.
Once he is on a Prepay plan all he would need to do is activate the plan by topping up by the activation amount every 6 months to keep the number active. That would leave the number active and he could continue to keep the Whatsapp account active to make calls and texts back to Ireland.
If he is currently in the middle of a 24 month contract then he would need to wait until he has reached the end of the contractual term to move to Prepay and avoid an early termination fee.
