Not able to add funds to Apple Account using Prepay Credit?

Hi,

 

I am using Apple Iphone.

I am on three.ie prepay.

 

I used to (recently) be able to add my unused top-up balance as my Apple Account funds.

 

As in - I top up my mobile with €20. I use whatever over the next month and I transfer reminder of that to my Apple ID.

 

I tried adding it today (26/08/2023) and it was unsuccessful...

 

What has changed? Is this no longer going to work?

Hi @Chiara_67933 thanks for getting in touch and I'm sorry to hear that you are having difficulties.

 

I've reached out to our 3Pay team and asked that they take a look at this for us. I'll post here as soon as we have any updates.

 So, for me also subscriptions payment don’t work, this just bounced back.

I wonder if the fact that you are paying for a yearly subscription (and not for app per se) has something to do with payment issue. I am only guessing.

Hey @WhiteHeteroGuy, thanks for helping with this, can I ask you to check in your payments do you see an Apple account like Chiara or just your mobile billing set up as a payment?

 

@Chiara_67933 unfortunately I don't have an answer for this currently but I can assure you I'm not forgetting about this. I have passed on the information to the relevant team who are investigating to see why this is happening and as soon as I have more I will be back here to you.

Hi Niall, Same thing just happened to me, I have mobile billing set up for months and my subscription for cloud storage just got

"Dear Brian,
There is a problem with your payment method which may prevent the renewal of this subscription."

I have 60 euro in credit so there is an issue again with subscription payments.

Hey @Chiara_67933  & @Sticks_Brianb , I have been in contact with Apple this morning and without any changes on my end the Apple Account balance seems to be removed however if you go into your Payment & Shipping screen and the Apple Account balance is still showing I would recommend contacting Apple on 1800 92 38 98 where they will be able to support you.

Sorry Niall, I don’t understand what you mean. I have no problem with my apple balance, I have 2€ left and I use it as normal for my Icloud, the problem is that I can’t use my 3 credit to pay for my apps. And I can’t even use it to top up the account balance to get around it.

Unfortunately, you wouldn't be able to use your credit to top up your Apple Balance as per terms and conditions with Apple. If the amount that you are trying to use is more than your Apple Balance I would recommend contacting Apple who would be able to check why this isn't charging from your Balance as I personally rang them earlier and they could see on their end why I couldn't use my own number to purchase apps.
