There seems to be a lot of restrictions put on the SIM cards on the three hero prepay plans.
When I try to enable wifi calling the message “To enable WiFi calling on this account, contact 3 Ireland”
similarly when I try to setup personal hotspot I also get a message “To enable personal hotspot on this account, contact 3 Ireland”
None of these restrictions are on my GoMo account - it is quite frustrating when you contact customer services and they keep telling you they have enabled it on their end, and blame the handset.
You have to change the Hotspot APN settings
On iPhone, go to Settings, Mobile service, then Mobile Data Network, change Hotspot APN from Open.internet to internet
This solves the issue
