Hi,
Messages sent using Webtext are having line feeds removed with no warning. Sending a message such as:
This is line 1. Here is line 2.
... results in a text that reads:
This is line 1.Here is line 2.
Watching the form submission in the browser shows a payload such as:
message=This+is+line+1%0D%0A%0D%0AHere+is+line+2
So it's definitely sending the URL-encoded line feed sequence, albeit with a Windows representation (0D 0A)
I've no idea how long it's been happening for. Tested against iPhone (latest iOS) and a generic Nokia-brand dumb phone
Thanks.
Hi @PGargan 👋 I just ran some tests and I see what you're saying. I've just send this on to the team and as soon as I get an update I'll be back to you.
Hi there @PGargan just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten this and I'm still waiting on a confirmed resolution. As soon as I get an update I'll let you know.
Hi. This has started happening again. Line breaks are again being dropped and replaced with spaces. I haven't tested other characters.
I appreciate the Three team is trying to fix this, but it really does seem like you're testing in production, or perhaps not testing at all. How can you have a basic functionality regression like this without anyone noticing? And if they did notice, can you not simply roll back the last deployment?
The fact that it keeps breaking with no indication is quite frustrating. Who knows how for long our texts have been getting mangled this time round? If you're unable to fix the problem, can you please at least put up a warning banner on the webtext page advising users there's a known issue?
Thanks
Hey @PGargan thanks for the above updates, I have passed these on to the relevant team and as soon as I have an update I will pop back here to you.
