Question About Upgrading Phone Process?

So 'm a first time bill pay user and very very happy with my time with Three and have no plans of changing carrier anytime soon.

but that said I've never been through the process of 'upgrading' my phone before. I've been on my contract since around March of 2019 and I'm due an upgrade in December 18th of this year and have some questions about it and would be super grateful for some help from other users if possible. 

So I'm on the Unlimited plan for like around 60 Euro a month, I was wondering what phones are available for upgrade? When upgrading do I automatically enter a new 24 month contract? What do I do with my old phone?

These are sort of what I'm wondering because I really have no experience. Thank you.

@gobSIDES Hello there, what sort of phone are you interested in? You can go for any phone, but the price will be reletive to your plan, and you never know, there might be offers available to you at that time 💪 I'm not able to advise of these until your number is ready for an upgrade.

If you do decide to go for a new phone, then yes, that means you enter a new 24-month contract. When I get an upgrade I pass my old phone onto family, maybe this is something you can think about? You can even request that your phone is unlocked click here , so if your family member is with a different network they'll be able to use it.

Ah cool this sort of answers all my questions. So I basically still own my old phone and can do a I please with it? That's good to hear. 

I don't mind entering a new 24 month contract as I'm really happy with Three so have 0 plans on changing network in the future. 

As for phone I'm not really sure to be honest, I'll likely look what's on offer and decide what is worth going for and have a few weeks to decide.
