Hey @claire_02376  , Welcome to the 3Community πŸ™‚

You can view our All About Voicemail Section. While you are roaming I would recommend following the steps on the Want to check your messages but don’t have your phone on you? section of this article where it explains how to access voicemail by adding a 5 after the prefix of your number,

Hi
I have followed the steps, and previously was able to access voicemail by dialling 5 before my number and * to access voicemails. But now when I press * it doesn’t interrupt the message and I just am brought to the tone to leave a message
Thanks

When you are describing that you are unable to interrupt the voicemail message, can I confirm is this acting as if you are going to leave a voicemail for yourself rather than allowing you to access your voicemail messages?

Hi, @Three_Niall - what was the solution for this one? I am facing the same problem. I used to have it working fine by pressing * but now pressing * it doesn’t interrupt the message and I just am brought to the tone to leave a message.

I can confirm that it is this acting as if I was going to leave a voicemail for myself rather than asking for pin and allowing me to access my voicemail messages.

Hey @Anonymous, I have checked this here for you and the steps outlined in the previous solution would remain the same. to access the voicemail while abroad you need to dial your mobile number with a 5 after the prefix from a landline or another mobile to access your voicemail. You will then need to press * followed by your PIN.

If your number is 0831234567, you would dial 08351234567. Once the voicemail service starts, press * . You will be asked for your PIN for access to the voicemail mailbox.

Once you have completed the above steps you should be redirected to your mailbox and you can read more about voicemail in our All About Voicemail Section.

Hey, @Three_Niall - Thanks for that. Yeah, I have tried that 083 5 123 4567/+353 83 5 123 4567 and pressed * to interrupt the message but it does not interrupt the message, it keeps going like if I was leaving a message to myself. And yes, I do have pin set up. Any ideas why it wouldn't work?

Do you have to have a custom greeting message for it to work rather than using the predefined one?

@Anonymous Personally, I use a custom greeting message. however the greeting message type doesn't make a difference when it comes to listening to voicemail. Have you tried adding 00 to the start of the number, for example, if your number is 0831234567, you would dial 003538351234567 ?

Hello, @Three_Niall - I will tell you what.. I actually got a quick rubish greeting message here and then tried 083 5 123 4567 + * and it worked. Back to standard voice message it did not... That is very very bad though.. means if I don't have a custom greeting message I can't access my voicemail from another phone - not cool at all, needs to be reviewed.

Thanks for making me aware of this @Anonymous, I am passing this example on to the voicemail team to have this reviewed further.
