ESIM Rollout

Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI.  I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these

Three Ireland already have eSIM provisioning capability - the ESB Smart meters are using Three eSIMs for example.

Three Ireland are also using Amdocs, you can see a lot of the Amdocs function calls in the background of the My3 pages.

Like VoLTE and WiFi Calling the rollout just doesn't seem to be a priority for logistical as opposed to technical reasons.

@Bilal  yeah Vodafone seems to have a stronger connection in those areas than 3 ( I think!!! )

Maybe switching to Vodafone for the main time till three are able to issue Esims and then I’m sure we can all switch back to three without any hassle.

Any progress of any kind to give us on the esim rollout? I’m happy to join a public trial even if that’s in the pipeline.

I'm keeping a close eye on it through and as soon as I do I'll share here.

Hi there,

Any update on the esim rollout and more specifically esim support for the Apple Watch? I'm currently on Vodafone bill pay and using an esim with my iPhone but I would switch to Three in a heartbeat if they had esim support for iPhone and Apple Watch as the Vodafone network has really gone down hill recently.

Hi @Sam_10038 I don't have any update on a launch date yet but I may have some updates in the coming weeks. As soon as I know more I'll post it here for you.
