Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI. I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these
I'm in London, so I can't visit a Three store in Ireland. I've phoned Three three times now, and have been told that they can't send an eSIM by e-mail, only by physically visiting a Three store in Ireland. This requirement is neither environmentally-friendly nor customer-friendly.
And I still haven't got an eSIM from Three UK because Three UK hasn't migrated number hasn't been migrated yet to Amdocs. So I can't use my Three UK and Three Ireland lines together on my new iPhone 15 Pro. Very annoying.
It’s a shambles of a launch. Being told one thing and then seeing people on here being able to do it over the phone.
I’d say just keep ringing till you find someone who actually wants to help. Not an ideal scenario, but it looks like that’s your only choice unfortunately.
Sorry for the issues you going through. I was hoping to get the Apple Watch eSIM today but yet more waiting. Not sure if some folks think I work for Three but I do not. Just a customer here. Just seen a few messages directed to me.
@Three_Stacey Thank you and all at Three for getting this over the line. The first few weeks will probably throw up some glitches, but that’s to be expected. I’d advise all those wishing to get IPhone 15 to wait an until Apple sort out their problems. Three updates in a week and pocket warmer😀😀😀.
@NFH since i hate dumb arbitrary restrictions on stuff one already pays for, here’s proof they can and do send esims by email. that’s how i received mine. i called the customer support phone, selected 1 for support with current phone number, selected 5 for other queries, and outlined my phone’s a bill pay plan and id like my sim reissued as esim. the agent was very kind and the moment he pressed the button to issue it i received an email and the phone call disconnected because my old sim was inactive. this is a bizarre restriction that isn’t related in any way to their technological capability - just some weird corporate stuff.
