Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI. I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these
@Browni and @Kursad thanks for the feedback in relation to your situation with the eSIM process, can you please send me your number you are looking to receive your eSIM from along with your name, address and date of birth via PM so I can gather more information on your situation with the eSIM and pass this onto the relevant team to see why you have been unable to receive the email.
@Toryb I've just refreshed your profile, please log out and back in to see if the PM option is available.
@Browni you're 100% correct never share your details publically

As I mentioned above, my first eSIM was issued on 12/10/2023, which stopped working on 13/10/2023 in that I couldn't connect to any UK network or any French network. When I reported this to Three, they repeatedly focussed incorrectly on roaming barring, even though Three doesn't support any roaming barring that completely prevents a device from connecting to networks, only the barring of specific services while roaming such as data, calls and texts. The symptoms of being unable to connect to any network were inconsistent with any barring function supported by Three. Therefore after 5 days without service, I requested a new eSIM on 18/10/2023, and my service was restored 2 hours later. So the first eSIM had become defective in some way.
Finally I can unsubscribe from this long thread. Thank you to Three Ireland's social media team for all the updates and help. Unlike Three UK's social media team who've been repeatedly misleading UK customers about eSIM for 3 years, you're all really helpful and responsive. Good luck to the rest of you who are still waiting for your eSIM.
@Dalk I wouldn't currently get an iPhone without a physical SIM tray, because several countries that I visit often either don't support eSIM on prepaid or they make it a logistical nightmare to transfer an eSIM to a new device. For me, eSIM is for my everyday Irish and UK numbers, and physical SIMs are for most other countries that I visit.
@Three_Stacey I can't pm you! And does it really have to be like this for everyone who needs eSIM has to pm you and solve the issue like that? I still wait for the email since last week, I submitted replace sim form three times, In the last one yesterday I received sms which mentioned request has been received and it will take up to 3 hours. And an hour ago suddenly my physical working sim went off, no service at all!
I connected to chat (which is useless) agent keeps telling me submit one more time and wait for the qr code. I dont even know how long it will take to receive qr code and my working sim is deactivated! Amazing service really... Three is doing everything to switch me to Vodafone
@Kursad I got a SMS yesterday (after almost 2 weeks) saying "We have received your request to complete an eSim swap on your number. Due to a technical issue, we were unable to process this request. If you still wish to proceed, can you resubmit your request."
That actually suits me perfectly as I do have an Android phone which I use in rotation with my Iphone, so with the eSim charge that would make switching phones a lot more expensive.
It took them 2 weeks to come back to me with a response, which doesn't even include a solution to my request... Your best shot is to go into a store if you have urgency for a eSim, I don't think the process to request the swap was ironed out yet and has a lot of flaws.
@Geo_dude Thanks, I thought mine would be sorted yesterday as the sms mentioned (this will take up to 3 hours confirmation) but I think their system /they thought I activated the eSIM, and they automaticaly disabled my working physical sim 😞 Nearly 4 hours now I have no service at all. Disabled physical sim and no esim qr code. You are right, I have to visit their store.
