ESIM Rollout

Hi

Vodafone Ireland have recently started issuing ESims in ROI.  I think Three should follow suit soon, handsets such as iPhone only allow dual sim using one of these

So just to inform,

Finally received esim, it was actually sent to my other email, not the one which was registered in the account, also not to the one which I used when I filled the form for sim replacement. Because it was sent yesterday, they probably (auto) disable the physical; sim card. which I experienced today.
So make sure guys when you request the esim, check your other emails, in case you registered with 3 before and still in their system. System may send the Qr code to that email address.
The funny thing is no one from Three side could see and confirm it, when/why. Anyway I feel lucky, happy that issue is solved now. Good luck to the others who are waiting for eSIM.

After a very long journey Three successfully generated my eSIM and I got the email with my QR code.

Now I could even activate the eSIM abroad successfully on my iPhone and it works properly.

Thanks to the very great support from the Three Support Team.

You made my day!!!

@Browni How long did it take?

What exactly do you mean?

In general since Three started to announce supporting eSIM or how long it needed to get my QR-code or to activate the eSIM after receiving the QR-code?

@Browni Sorry, yeah, how long from requesting the esim did it take to get the email?

I think I need to explain something first!
Three probably has a problem with different email account providers in your system and therefore receiving the QR code only worked successfully when we used a Gmail account.
Lt. Three Support is probably due to the generation on rudimentary email accounts.
It took around 15-30 minutes from the request to receiving the QR code,
Unfortunately I can't say exactly because I didn't wait for it all the time, but instead checked my emails at some point.
Activation can take up to 3 hours.
For me it took about 30-45 minutes until the eSIM worked and even received SMS.
So from what I can tell so far everything seems to be working to my satisfaction.
I can only recommend staying in touch with customer support if possible and, if you have a Gmail account, requesting the QR code straight away, because that's what ultimately worked for me.

I hope I helped you with this.

Good to hear it worked for you.

I moved to esim but moved back to a physical sim as there were issues with sms after the move.  All sorted now, but I’ve no need for esim yet so I’ll let them work out the teething issues first.
