Hi Three,
I would like to suggest that Three Ireland create a dedicated web portal / Community area where customers can register, browse available beta programmes and voluntarily join trials of experimental services, network features and modem firmware.
The idea would be to create a voluntary programme where curious customers, technology enthusiasts and experienced beta testers could register to test experimental services, network features, modem firmware and other products before their general release.
This could provide several benefits to Three:
1. Reduce testing and development costs
Three could involve real customers in controlled trials and receive feedback from a much wider range of devices, locations and usage scenarios. This would complement internal testing and help Three identify problems that may not appear in a laboratory environment.
2. Launch new services more quickly and reliably
Technologies such as 5G Standalone and IPv6 sound exciting, but their implementation can be challenging because they depend on equipment and software from multiple manufacturers.
A beta programme would allow customers to report practical issues such as:
IPv6 not working correctly with certain websites or applications.
5G Standalone causing problems with mobile hotspots or tethering.
Compatibility issues with particular phones, routers or applications.
Unexpected changes in coverage, latency, voice services or battery consumption.
This feedback could help Three resolve problems before making a service available to every customer.
3. Test new modem and router firmware
Beta testers could evaluate new firmware versions for Three-supplied modems and routers, including:
New features and configuration options.
Updated modem drivers.
Security and stability improvements.
Wi-Fi, 4G and 5G performance changes.
Public IP, IPv6, bridge mode and port-forwarding functionality.
There is nothing better than an enthusiastic and technically experienced customer testing new functionality in a real environment and providing detailed feedback.
Participation should, of course, be voluntary. Three could clearly explain that beta services may contain bugs and provide an easy way for testers to report problems or return to the stable version.
As the general idea expressed in The Big Bang Theory suggests: test the product before release, identify when something is going in the wrong direction, report the problem and fix it.

Would Three consider creating a programme like this for customers interested in testing services such as 5G SA, IPv6 and new broadband modem firmware?
I would be very interested in participating.
