To ensure that young people enjoy internet services safely, Three uses content filtering to exclude access to web pages deemed objectionable, inappropriate, or illegal.

If you are over 18, then you can request to have the adult content filter removed from your account. All you need to do is follow the below steps!

  1. Make sure your personal details are updated to include your  date of birth, on My3 under 'My Details and Preferences.'
  2. Once done complete the request using our Contact Us form  here
  3. Select “General” as the Contact Reason.
  4. Then select “account type” and fill this in as Prepay
  5. Select “Age Verification” or “Adult Content Filter” as the Query type.
  6. Fill the complete form, as the information is required for validation purposes.
  7. On this form > FileUpload, please attach a copy of any one of the following IDs: remember that the ID needs to be in date and your Name and Date of Birth must be clearly displayed on all IDs

Passport or Passport card from any country

Full or Provisional Driving License from any country

European Identity Card

Student ID card

Valid Garda Card

  1. The comments should include the text “Remove Adult Content Filter”
  2. Once all of this is complete, hit Submit.

Once we have verified your age, we will remove the filter. This may take up to 48 hours to complete and you’ll receive a confirmation SMS from us. Happy Internetting!

If you are a bill pay customer and would like to have the filter applied to your account feel free to contact us and we can help.

@Daniel3 and @Vincent0 Hi there, have you both had the adult filter removed? I've just updated this article, so if the filter is still in place, can you follow the steps outlined above? Thanks

Dear 3, changed to your network from meteor because of bad 4g.

Was never told about this adult filter.  I paid with a credit card. Obviously I am over 18.

3 have now told me I have to provide ID.

Well there are a few problems with this

1 I paid with credit card I have already proved I am over 18

2 I am prepay and unregistered for a reason.

3 I simply do not want to provide my ID to three, a private company to use data I have paid for. You are a mobile network, not the Soviet Union. You have ZERO business with my ID.

Can you deactivate this filter or am I going to have to change network again?

@ImMelvin  Hi there, when you click on the link did you select General, then Prepay, the age verification in the contact us form? See the below image;

@Fitzy4566 Hi there, to remove this filter you'll need to provide one of the following - a valid driving license, passport, National Age Card, or student ID. When we see one of those we can remove the filter 👍
